Helen went to the University of Washington as an undergraduate and then Durham University for a master’s degree. She started out work as an actuary (a logical choice for someone with a math degree) but decided against working in such a narrow field like life insurance after a few years and decided to explore other career paths instead. After taking linear algebra as an undergraduate, she was relieved to move on to other things. Life of course moves in funny ways and it eventually because a helpful subject to know as she learned about AI models in the last few years.

Helen was a D1 rower at the University of Washington as an undergrad.
